My son's name is Riley, and I prefer it for a boy instead of a girl. But I also really like Jacob (Jake). That was my other choice but hubby %26amp; I agreed on Riley.
What is a better, stonger boy name, Riley, Jacob, or Matthew?
I think Jacob
Reply:Why not Jacob with Riley as the middle name? Very strong and manly.
Reply:Jason is a strong boy's name.
Riley can be misinterpreted to be a female's name.
Jacob is too Christian-oriented.
Matthew is ok, but most will shorten the name through adolescence.
Reply:preferably Jacob. Its def the strongest
Reply:Jacob, nickname Jake, sounds very strong
Reply:Matthew. A name that will never go out of style.
Riley is used for a girl or boy now, so not as strong of a name.
Reply:I think Jacob, with the nickname Jake, has a very rugged feel to it.
Matthew is a close second.
While I quite like Riley, the fact that it is now often used as a girl's name makes it the least masculine of the three. But it's not necessarily a bad choice, either.
Jacob Riley would be a nice combination - so if you love Riley, but fear your son being mistaken for a girl, why not use it as a middle name?
Best wishes.
Reply:If you're going for something with a "strong" feel, you'll probably want to avoid Riley (currently trendy for both genders, unfortunately) or Jacob (a fine name, but the number-one choice for nearly a decade comes across as more boring/predictable than strong, to be honest).
You might also like Roland, Jude, Caleb, Emmet, Matthias, Nathaniel or Malachi, by the way. ;)

Reply:Matthew or Jacob... Riley isn't a strong name.

Reply:I do like the name Riley...
Strength in Matthew and Jacob.....Biblical names remain strong for eternity.
Reply:jacob... just because my angel's jacob:)

Reply:Jacob Riley is a strong name for a boy in my opinion.
Reply:I really like Riley but as for a 'strong' name I would go with either Jacob of Matthew.. i personally like Jacob the best.
Reply:Jacob and Matthew are both really strong boy's names. Jake and Matt both remind me of manly men. Riley is being used for girls now, so it can't be a strong boy's name.
Reply:Jacob is a strong name, Matthew second strongest. Riley doesn't sound like one at all. I think b/c of the 'ee' sound at the end.
Reply:I like Jocob rewer people are using it now, Riley seems to be getting quite popular now even for girl names and Matthew is also fairly popular, really popular
Reply:Definitely not Riley. Jacob and Matthew both fit the bill.
Reply:I like Jason or Matthew.

Reply:Jacob and Matthew tie for this one. I like Jacob more, but Matthew is still a very strong boy name. Riley is unisex., I know more girls than boys with that name.

Reply:I personally like Jacob (Jake) or Matthew for a boy, but I like Riley more as a girls name! Just my opinion though!
Reply:Jacob is a stronger boy name. Matthew is good too, but too common. Riley, not a bad name, but not strong for a boy as it is a girls name too.
Reply:Jacob and Matthew
Reply:Matthew or Jacob
Riley, not a strong name, Ryan or better Bryant, are stronger names
I think Matthew is the strongest name of the three
