back in the day i read this book once about a kid who moved or whatever and in his new home he goes to the basement and finds a dead guy there cept hes not like dead dead id say zombie but he doesnt try to eat anyone so i wont ^^ but anyway he talks to the boy alot when the boy goes down and i cant remember everything and im not sure but i think at the end of the book the dead guy actually like dies dies. also the dead guy seems wicked depressed which makes sense as hes dead. anyone know the name of this book?

Is the dead guy a former slave? Is he a ghost? I read about a book by Avi called " Something Upstairs" about a boy who moves into an old house and meets the ghost of a former slave named Caleb. He researches and finds out the boy had committed suicide. The ghost tells him that is not true....
